In case you haven’t yet heard the latest tweet from Donald Trump, this one is beyond reckless…It can easily be taken by at least his fringe supporters as a violent ‘call to action’ toward journalists in the news media, and goes far beyond his previously over-the-top accusation that the news media is the ‘opposition party’…
In this latest tweet, he actually makes a Presidential proclamation that the news media is “The enemy of the American people”. That cannot be tolerated, due to the clear and present danger in which it places journalists in the field as a result. Here is his actual tweet:
“The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!

Let me ask, how do you think Republican Conservatives would have reacted if President O’Bama had tweeted ANY SORT of such a reckless and dangerous assertion toward Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, and many other such frequently unsupportive news media outlets toward him?
What do you think they would say if O’bama had broadcast to all his supporters that Conservative Republican news sources were “The Enemy of the American People!” They would come unglued with fear that this could easily result in black violence toward whites, and a resurgence of something like ‘The Black Panthers’ movement in the 1960’s.
Like yelling “FIRE in a crowded theater”, this was beyond just angry, juvenile speech as we’ve often heard from Trump…This is where the line gets crossed, when it comes to free speech.
When you hatefully use a nationwide broadcast tool like “Twitter” to call journalists and reporters you don’t like “The enemy of the American People”, knowing you have every racist and white nationalist organization in the country loudly and proudly supporting you for President, you can’t do that and NOT KNOW you are playing with fire.
Add to this Trump’s Vice President Mike Pence addressing NATO today, during which he said that the Trump administration will render ALL our “enemies” to the “ash heap of history”. He was specifically referring to ISIS, but this was a day after Trump proclaimed that journalists and the news media he doesn’t like are staunchly in the category of “enemies of the American people” as well.
Honorable Americans can plainly see this is insanity and cannot be allowed to stand. Trump is simply ‘freaking out’ under the growing revelations by respected journalists and news organizations, that are exposing his fraudulent pathological lying and his extensive Russian collusion. Now as a result, he is placing journalists in harm’s way in the field with what can easily be interpreted as an incitement to violence.
Donald Trump has crossed a dangerous line with this latest tweet, and he needs to be placed on notice that he must withdraw it immediately, due to the fact that it has the potential to influence and inspire at least some of his fringe supporters to think this is a justification for violence toward those their President has branded “The Enemy of all Americans”.
