MERRY CHRISTMAS! That said, it is important to wake up and be intellectually honest about how this age-old festive time at Winter Solstice (long predating Christianity) of a celebration of love and peace, was co-opted, ‘bastardized’ and deliberately lied about to the masses by the church.
The following details the fraudulent Christian church lie of the date of December 25th being the date of Jesus’ birth. It is just one example of a huge number of such examples, where the early founders of The Christian church stole and copied traditions of other myths and philosophies, and then dishonestly claimed them as true and original to Christianity when they were not. Obviously, an HONEST religion doesn’t ever need to do such a thing, as you should know.
But in American culture, we generally agree to celebrate all things ‘Christmas’ mainly because of its age-old mythical history – from which it was CO-OPTED – of such a Winter celebration every year at this time, that has unconditional love and peace FOR ALL as its message and reminder…Not the ‘CONDITIONAL’ love of Christianity, where all others who don’t believe/convert are condemned…But UNCONDITIONAL love, because forgiveness has NO ELEMENT of damnation, ever. (Forgiveness is not ‘conditional’ as Christianity tries to re-define it.)
Space here doesn’t permit the long laundry list of the large number of other things Christianity stole from other ancient civilizations that long predated Christianity, and the early formers of the Christian church chose to copy and steal their popular myth motifs, and then call them original to Christianity.
The ‘VIRGIN BIRTH’ is one of the biggest examples of this ‘myth theft’ by the church, the virgin birth myth motif being a widely shared belief practiced LONG before Christianity, in ancient mythologies. Yet Christians are under the false impression that it is original to their belief.
The same is the case with the whole ‘SAVIOR GOD-MAN’ myth model…But here’s the very important thing about it…Those common myth motifs were always meant to be taken METHAPHORICALLY, and they NEVER had an element of condemnation involved, until the early formers of the Christian church co-opted them and added that condemning element.
But the ‘savior god man’ common myth model long predating Christianity’s claiming it as ‘original’ to them, was always meant to be understood as metaphorical symbol of OURSELVES, each of us a HOLY part of what “God” is, not just “Jesus” being that, with the rest of us separate from what “God” is, subject to being burned for eternity if we don’t believe a certain way.
Again, this distortion and condemnation aspect was ONLY ADDED when these commonly held myth models were COPIED AND STOLEN by the early formers of the church.
Enough with the many lies of Christianity, lies that pollute and stand in the way of understanding real spiritual truth, real healing and real forgiveness that has NO element of condemnation. Lies by men, fraudulently masquerading as “God’s Word”, that create a horribly harmful block to waking up to our ONENESS WITH GOD, all of us in all our diversity, being a HOLY PART OF what “God” is, not separate in any way from what is Divine.
The date of Jesus’ birth is, as I said above, only yet another of many such examples of this dishonest fraudulent practice that is the origin of the ‘Christian myth’…That is what Christianity is, only a theft of age old widely held myths of much older cultures, that were co-opted and deliberately plagiarized for the purpose of controlling the masses by the founders of the Roman Catholic church.
This is one of the biggest and most damaging lies perpetrated on mankind, and it is one of the biggest things standing in the way of world peace – the condemnation and the divisiveness not just found in Christianity (and to some extent Judaism) but also the same fraudulent element found in Islam.
That said, take a look at this example below of how the early formers of the Christian church chose to DELIBERATELY LIE about the date of Jesus’ birth, in order to convert unbelievers who loved to celebrate a very special festival at this time every year (Again, an honest ‘holy’ religion would never need to engage in such a lie to attract followers…And I would add that maybe this somewhat explains still to this day, how many evangelical Christians are shamefully ignoring all of Trump’s lies and corruption, day in and day out, because they hypocritically think it’s OK because Republicans think they are some sort of “Christian Party”. It wasn’t until A.D. 440 that the church officially proclaimed December 25 as the birth of Christ. This was not based on any religious evidence but on a pagan feast. Saturnalia was a tradition inherited by the Roman pagans from an earlier Babylonian priesthood. December 25 was used as a celebration of the birthday of the sun god. It was observed near the winter solstice.
The apostles in the Bible predicted that some Christians would adopt pagan beliefs to enable them to make their religion more palatable to the pagans around them. Therefore, some scholars think the church chose the date of this pagan celebration to interest them in Christianity. The pagans were already used to celebrating on this date.
The Bible itself tells us that December 25 is an unlikely date for His birth. Palestine is very cold in December. It was much too cold to ask everyone to travel to the city of their fathers to register for taxes. Also the shepherds were in the fields (Luke 2:8-12). Shepherds were not in the fields in the winter time.
