On Senator Elizabeth Warren and the San Francisco 49’ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick…

I was very encouraged after the disgraceful Presidential election when I heard Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren saying some of the very same things I’ve been writing about, making it clear that Trump’s campaign was largely and primarily fueled by racism and bigotry.

elizwarrenIn an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, she said something else very similar to what I’ve been writing the last two days…She said, “We are not turning this country over to what Donald Trump has sold, we are just not.”

Like I said in my last post, we can start this movement, this rejection and repudiation of this disgrace of an excuse for a President, by simply REFUSING to ever refer to him as President for the next 4 years…Let’s not even give him that honor. We just refer to him as “Mr. Trump”. (This will drive his ego bat sh#t crazier than it already is, and it will drive his supporters even crazier)

And we need to address the inexcusable situation that this is the SECOND TIME a Democratic candidate has won the MAJORITY vote in a Presidential election and LOST! Donald Trump’s angry, white bigoted base elected him with the MINORITY vote. He won because of a faulty system of what are called ‘electoral votes’, a number that varies state by state. Again, this is the second time this has happened, and part of our movement now needs to be addressing this INTOLERABLE fact.

It has been reported now that Hillary lost the three important ‘rust belt states’ by only a little over 100,000 votes! There were millions of votes in those three states, and she ended up losing those states’ electoral votes by a VERY slim margin.

kaepernick3Do you know why? Because of minorities like 49’ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has been proudly proclaiming that he had NO intention to vote, because he felt like his vote wouldn’t matter in a political system of minority oppression.

OH….MY…..GYAAWDDD!!

That is of course absurd beyond comprehension! I could go on and on here listing the HUGE, life changing benefits for African Americans like Colin, and all other minority groups as well, with the election of the Democratic candidate, not the least of which is keeping ‘stop and frisk’ banned (Trump has raved about bringing it back), keeping mandatory prison sentences under humane guidelines, keeping access to health care affordable, keeping critical social welfare programs funded, fighting for a living wage for all low income workers, on and on and on!

But the main point I want to make about Kaepernick is that he may have dangerously influenced a significant number of the over 6 millions of other Black and minority members who didn’t come out this election, but may have heard of his ‘mentally challenged’, irresponsible ‘logic’ and decided to stay home.

TrumpHillarypicThat said, guess how many LESS voters came out this election than the last election of O’Bama in 2012? Over SIX MILLION LESS came out to vote. Hillary got the majority vote WITHOUT THEM, but she needed at least a tiny fraction of those, and she would have easily won those rust belt states.

But millions and millions of Democratic voters were LAZY and irresponsibly blew off voting like Colin Kaepernick. If you were one of those individuals, NOW YOU SEE HOW IMPORTANT YOUR VOTE IS…NOW YOU SEE IN LIVING COLOR…Well, pretty much just weird shades of ORANGE, the bigoted, immoral result that can happen when you don’t cast your meaningful vote.

This movement I keep referring to is important not only to keep the spotlight on the national embarrassment of Donald Trump’s perversion of the White House, but ALSO to begin NOW, getting minorities registered and committed to do their civic duty in 2 years at the notoriously low turnout MID TERM ELECTIONS. And in my opinion, we will likely need all 4 years to ensure we accomplish rallying them like 2012, to get out and vote in the next 2020 election…

In other words, we don’t need 20/20 hindsight to be this embarrassing and painful IN THE YEAR 2020!!

Remember, the most fun we will have in all this pain is immediate, we will refuse to EVER call Trump “Mr. President”…We will NEVER, EVER refer to him as “President Trump”…We don’t believe a person who used white hate and bigotry to fuel his campaign deserves to be given ANY PRESIDENTIAL RESPECT. He will be lucky if we call him “MISTER” Trump without any other descriptors before his disgraceful ‘brand’ of a name.
